11th January 2006

Leading care charity Brendoncare has appointed Kevin Young as the new Home Manager for its total care living complex for older people in Alton.
Kevin joins Brendoncare Alton from a major contract catering company where he worked as Catering Services Director. He trained originally as a Chef and then went on to complete an HCIMA in Hotel Management at Westminster. He has worked in various managerial roles predominantly in the hotel and conference sectors, most latterly as General Manager of a 75 bed conference centre.
Kevin commented: "I am very excited about my new role at Brendoncare and am delighted to have inherited such an impressive team. This is a highly prestigious and innovative care complex with excellent resources and the quality of care being delivered by the staff is very high. I hope to build on the complex’s many strengths and in particular develop the daycare service which provides a valuable resource for older people and their carers within the Alton community."
Brendoncare's Chief Executive, Ron Staker, said: "We are delighted to welcome Kevin to Brendoncare. While the quality of care that we provide to our residents is paramount, the hotel services are also important in enhancing the quality of their lives. Kevin’s experience in the hotel sector will bring a fresh perspective to our Alton care complex and he will be a real asset to our senior management team."
Married with four children, Kevin lives in Englefield Green in Egham, Surrey.
Brendoncare Alton provides both residential and nursing care for 75 people; daycare facilities for the physically and mentally frail; and specialist residential care for severely mentally frail residents. There are also 46 close care apartments where older people can live fully independent lives enjoying full access to the home’s services if needed.
